Rodeo Royalty and Ambassador

Fair Ambassador 2026

My name is Elly Steele, and I am a 17-year-old junior at Cashmere High School. I have been a part of this fair since first grade, and it holds a special place in my heart, my dad showed hogs here during his own high school years, and that legacy is a big part of what drew me in.

My journey in agriculture started with the "Farm Friends" 4-H group, where I showed rabbits from first grade through fifth grade. From there, I found my home in FFA, and I am now in my third year. Over the last two years I have shown hogs and plan to continue doing so right up until graduation.

The rodeo world has also become a big part of my life. I have volunteered at the Omak Stampede for the last three years, and in 2024 I competed in my very first Jr. Rodeo in Chelan, Washington, where I took part in goat tying. Crossing that finish line was one of my proudest moments, and it is something I had worked toward for a long time.

Outside of agriculture, I have been the catcher for the Cashmere softball team since my freshman year, a sport I have loved since I was seven years old. Community matters deeply to me as well. I have helped with school concessions during basketball games and volunteered at local toy drives during the 2024 holiday season to support kids in the Cashmere area.

I am so excited and honored to have been selected as this year's Fair Ambassador, and I look forward to representing this community, celebrating everything that makes our fair special, and carrying on the traditions that have shaped who I am.
