Volunteer of the YearLANCE CHIPMAN Lance Chipman, owner of Chipman Construction and multiple other businesses in Cashmere, has been chosen as the Chelan County Fair Volunteer of the Year for 2011. Lance was born and raised in Cashmere, WA.Last year, just hours prior to the rodeo, inclement weather turned the arena into a giant mud bog unsafe for both participants and livestock. Lance immediately volunteered both the man hours and the heavy equipment to remove the mud and replace it with fresh fill dirt. Other than the heavy equipment sitting around the arena no one knew the hard work that went into the preparations for the 2010 Chelan County Fair Rodeo which allowed it to start on time without a hitch. Thank you Lance! This type of generosity is common behavior for Lance. He has been involved with many non-profit organizations and has always been supportive and generous with the Chelan County Fair. Our hats are off to this year’s Volunteer of the Year. . . .Lance Chipman.
